Terms and Conditions of BVC Membership

  1. Payment of the association membership fee gives each member a voting right with Byron Visitor Centre Inc and Tourism Byron Inc. This component of the membership is non-refundable.
  2. A once-only joining fee of $44 including gst will be applied to new memberships.
  3. The service and benefits component of the membership can be refunded under certain conditions on a pro-rata basis, a minimum one month fee is non refundable.
  4. Membership is not valid until payment is received and processed by the BVC.
  5. If membership is not paid by the due date all promotional material will be removed from the brochure racks and walls.
  6. A $44 including gst rejoining fee will be levied on members who are more than two months overdue with membership payment.
  7. Membership payments may be made in two halves, the first in July 2006 and the second in January 2007. If this option is chosen, a $25 + gst administration fee will apply to each payment. Members wishing to take advantage of this option must inform BVC administration before 31st July 2006.
  8. It is the responsibility of each member to notify the BVC of changes to contact details and rate information.
  9. If a member wishes to use the BVC logo, permission must be sought and approved by the BVC prior to usage. No member may use the accredited VIC logo (italic yellow i on a blue background).
  10. Members have access to the BVC database through our systems only. Independent lists will not be distributed.
  11. An email address is required for membership purposes. The BVC undertakes not to distribute, sell or otherwise disclose your email address. Please advise BVC administration if you do not wish to receive emails regarding tourism events, advertising opportunities and newsletters. You will receive emails relating to your membership only.
  12. Discounts with byron-bay.com are subject to the terms and conditions of byronbay.com pty ltd (non-accommodation members only).
  13. For tour and activity operators, any trust account monies owing will be calculated at the end of each month and forwarded, less commissions due, as soon as possible after the end of the month.
  14. All tours and activities will be charged at 15% including gst commission on bookings made by the BVC, unless otherwise agreed.
  15. Tour operators must be properly insured, registered and licensed to operate. No responsibility will be taken by the BVC for accidents or mishaps occurring to clients booked through the BVC.
  16. Tour operators agree that the BVC is acting as a booking agent for their business, and must clearly state their cancellation policy to the BVC.
  17. For accommodation operators, all deposits and prepayments for accommodation bookings are collected by Byron Bay Accom. Please refer to BBA's terms and conditions for payment of trust account monies taken. Bookings, deposits and arrangements re keys are the responsibility of BBA.
  18. Accommodation operators must be properly insured and provide proof of their insurance to BBA. No responsibility will be taken by the BVC for accidents and/or injuries occurring to clients booked through the BVC/BBA.
