Web Architecture

My side hobby is the study of web server architecture. I find I can enjoy studying system architecture and can appreciate it from both a network engineer and a developers perspective.

I plan to expand this area and enter up my notes taken down from personal research and professional experience. I have spent fifteen years playing within the Linux/Unix architecture and work within the LAMP environment extensively. As a systems architect I need to be able to understand not just how the application framework such as Drupal is doing but also the underlying web server and networking as well as client/browser issues or interactions.

Recently I delivered a talk on mod_php and fastCGI architecture;

I will be adding further information over the following weeks as I upload recent notes related to this talk. Into the future I will grow this area and keep it updated with information relating to web architecture specific for the mark-up languages and PHP frameworks.
