Below you will find some of my feature web sites with a brief discussion about the techniques used and the reason why design choices were made.

Byron Schoolies needed a facelift, the old site was white/blue/green and quite cluttered. The new site was designed with a flash night club web template being used as the inspiration. The client purchased the template #6625 from template monster and this template was used as en inspiration for the design, however no code was used from the template for the new design. When designing the layout the main aim was to provide a young feel with better separation of information sections, whilst increasing the amount of information displayed. New sections where added to the site with more white space being added to the page layouts to allow for easier reading. On the old site the individual accommodation pages where cluttered and only displayed two static images of the property. This was changed to a longer layout with flash added into the image place holders to allow for multiple images to be displayed for each property. The colour scheme was chosen to be funky, bright and young, with deejay icons and rollover effects being used throughout the site. |

Lord Byron Resort |

Lord Byron Resort had recently undergone renovations and changed their logo, they needed a new web site to reflect these changes. The top header images where placed into flash to enable randomly changing images which reflect the various accommodation options and amenities on offer by the resort. The photos on the site where kept small to maximize space usage. To allow visitors to have a good look at room types and amenities of the resort javascript was used to allow larger image pop ups when photos are clicked. The new site directly linked to the resorts online booking system to allow for accommodation bookings to be taken online. |

Donatella Parisini-Lowry |

As Donatella is a photographer the main focus was presenting her large array of images. The color palette was recently updated and chosen to match the design of Donatella's new business card. The feel was to represent a dark slate scheme with a minimalist design approach. This was done so the site acts as a backdrop to the photography without distracting from it, as the photography is the main focus of the site. The photo portfolio pages utilize flash and xml. The use of xml allows Donatella to upload and change images in her portfolio without the intervention of a web designer. This was an important aspect of the site for Donatella as a photographer she requires the need to be constantly updating her images. The wedding page has just recently been updated and now houses nine separate wedding gallery's. The wedding gallery's can be accessed by the side menu and by clicking on the photo/name for each wedding. |
